Lehigh Named No. 2 Seed, Will Face Loyola in PL Quarterfinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Lehigh men's tennis team will serve as the No. 2 seed in the 2022 Patriot League Men's Tennis Championship as the official schedule was announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks will take on No. 7 Loyola Maryland on Friday, April 29 at 3:15 p.m. at the USNA Tennis Courts in Annapolis, Md.
The Mountain Hawks set a new program-record this season, finishing the regular season with a 7-1 league record. Lehigh defeated Loyola 6-1 in Baltimore, Md. to secure its first league win of the year.
Action will begin Thursday afternoon with a first-round match at 1 p.m. between No. 8 Holy Cross and No. 9 Lafayette.
Quarterfinals begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday with No. 1 Navy playing the winner of the No. 8 Lafayette/No. 9 Holy Cross match. No. 4 Bucknell will face No. 5 Boston University at 10:15 a.m. At 12:45 p.m. No. 3 Army West Point will face No. 6 Colgate and No. 2 Lehigh will play No. 7 Loyola in the final quarterfinal match of the day at 3:15 p.m.
Semifinal matches will be played on Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday May 1 at 1 p.m.
