WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team fought the entire game to work its way back and leave West Point with a win. The Mountain Hawks went on an 8-1 run in the fourth quarter but were unable to secure a win over Army West Point, falling 22-15 at Michie Stadium on Wednesday.

Juniors Gabby Schneider and Emma Eberhardt led Lehigh offensively. Schneider finished with five points, tallying two goals and three assists for the Mountain Hawks. Eberhardt finished with two goals and two assists, as she eclipsed the 50 goal, 50 assist and 100 point milestones for her career.

Four other Mountain Hawks finished with multiple goals against Army. Leading the way was first-year Angelina Pino who scored twice in Lehigh's second half run. Cassie Marte, Olivia Memeger, Nora Giordano and Maggie Kelly all finished with two goals as well.

Defensively, senior Emma McGillis stepped up for the Mountain Hawks. McGillis finished with three groundballs and three caused turnovers.

Lehigh got off to a slow start, giving up four Army goals before Giordano stepped up to score Lehigh's first goal of the game. Goals from Memeger and Eberhardt followed suit as the Mountain Hawks trailed 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Army scored two quick goals to open up the second quarter but Lehigh continued to fight, with two more goals from Eberhardt and Giordano. The Black Knights went on a 4-0 run to finish the half and extend their lead to 13-6. The third quarter was a tough one for the Mountain Hawks as Army outscored them 8-2. Lehigh fought back in the last quarter of the game, going on to outscore the Black Knights 8-1 to finish the game. Schneider, Pino and Kelly each finished the fourth quarter with two goals. Kelly scored her first career goal at 5:46. With seven seconds left in the game, Kelly went back for more, scoring her second goal of the season on a free position shot.

Final shots were 39-30 in favor of Army while Lehigh held a 14-8 edge in groundballs. The Black Knights had a 28-10 advantage in draw controls but Lehigh finished with more saves (7) and fewer turnovers (6) than Army.

The Mountain Hawks will return to Bethlehem to take on Bucknell on Saturday. The game will begin at 12 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
