Lehigh to Wrap Up Fall Season With Match Against Monmouth

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's tennis team will wrap up the fall season with a match against Monmouth on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks will battle the Hawks at 12 p.m. on the Ulrich Varsity Courts.Â
Lehigh is coming off of a week-long break following a trip to Princeton for the ITA Regional Championships. Five Mountain Hawks made the trip to New Jersey, ending the weekend with two singles wins and one doubles win.Â
Junior Megha Dania picked up two wins at the ITA Regionals. Dania defeated Hofstra's Kaitlyn Ferguson 6-1, 6-0 to move on to the round of 64. Dania picked up her second win of the weekend during doubles play with partner Anuskha Dania. The Lehigh duo defeated Anastasia Gubanova and Isabella Venter from St. Bonaventure 8-2.Â
First-year Avery Hopkey was the third Mountain Hawk to finish the weekend with a win. Hopkey defeated Binghamton's Maria Pereira-Matos 6-0, 6-1 to secure a spot in the round of 64.Â
Monmouth is 2-3 overall with wins over St. Francis Brooklyn and Rider highlighting its fall season. The Hawks fell to Bryant 6-1 in their most recent match on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Lehigh will look to claim its third series win over Monmouth on Saturday. Lehigh defeated the Hawks 6-1 in 2013 and 7-0 in 2014 in the Lewis Tennis Center.Â
