Combined 17 athletes will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships this weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa – The Lehigh men's and women's track and field teams will send a combined 17 athletes to the IC4A/ECAC Championships this weekend, held in Springfield, Mass. The three-day event will begin on Friday with the action concluding on Sunday afternoon for the Mountain Hawks. All qualifying athletes this year had to be ranked inside the top 32 in their respective events. With COVID impacting the season, there were no qualifying marks.
The majority of the athletes for Lehigh will all compete on Saturday, however a few of them will be in action on Friday and Sunday. The Brown and White will have three members compete at 3:30 p.m. on the first day. Louis Logsdail and Conor Reilly will both take part in the pole vault for Lehigh. Reilly is currently ranked eighth with a mark of 4.90m (16'0.75"), while Logsdail just made the cut and is 30th at 4.45m (14'7.25"). Junior Veronica Meyer is also slated for a 3:30 p.m. time slot in the javelin. The junior comes in just making the cut at 39.93m (131'0").
Jumper Kerry Perna and distance runner Connor Melko will kick things off for Lehigh on Saturday with the high jump at noon and the 1500m at 12:15 p.m. Melko will also run the 5K at later on at 5:50 p.m. Melko is currently ranked 16th in the 1500m (3:48.13) and 31st in the 5K (14:25.35). Chae Kim will run the 100mH at 1:15 p.m. Kim's 100mH will be a qualifier in the event, with the finals being on Sunday. Brandtson Duffie and Jacob Martinez will both represent the Brown and White in the 800m run at 3:10 p.m.
A few of the field events will begin at 3:30 p.ml on Saturday and the Mountain Hawks are well represented. Quinn Conlan just made the cut with a score of 45.30m (148'7") to be able to participate. Teasha McKoy comes in ranked 20th in the shot put with a mark of 13.97m (45'10"). Lastly, Ian Scott comes into Saturday ranked 14th in the high jump with a mark of 2.00m (6'6.75").
At 4:40 p.m., Lehigh will have two distance guys compete in the steeplechase in Nick Norton and Avery Lederer. Norton is seeded eighth for the Mountain Hawks with a time of 9:03.36, while Lederer just squeaked in with a time of 9:37.94. Distance runner Madison Zaun will compete in the 5K for Lehigh at 5:20 p.m. Wrapping up Saturday's action will be the 10K at 7:15 p.m., as Jeffrey Kirshenbaum and Brad DeMassa will embark on the lengthy race.
Sunday, the final day, Lehigh will have three, possibly four athletes compete. All three guaranteed athletes will have their events start at 11:00 a.m. Rachel Sequeira is in the triple jump field with a high mark of 11.67m (38'3.5"). In the discus, McKoy is ranked 16th with a mark at 46.99m (154'2"), while the sophomore Scott is currently seeded 30th with a mark of 14.28m (46'10.25").
No matter the results this weekend and where they finish, athletes will have to wait to see the qualifying lists for the first round of the NCAA Championships. The NCAA qualifiers are expected to be announced early next week. The top 48 qualifiers will then compete in the NCAA East Region.
