Lehigh Women Notch Road League Win at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks reached their 10th win of the season with a 4-1 victory at Patriot League rival Bucknell on Wednesday evening. Lehigh improves to 4-1 in the Patriot League with an overall mark of 10-7. The Bison fall to 2-2 in league play and 12-7 overall. Lehigh now has back-to-back 10-win seasons and has reached double-digit win totals in three of the last four seasons.
Lehigh jumped out to an early lead by winning the crucial doubles point. Sibel Can and Paula Gonzalez team up for a 6-3 victory at the second flight before Briana Maravich and Grace Lin clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at the third flight.
Gonzalez scored another team point with a two-set victory over Paige Leavy at the second singles flight. The freshman is now 3-1 in Patriot League play and 10-7 overall.
Maravich also gave Lehigh another team point as she followed up her doubles win with a two-set singles victory Madeline Melch at the sixth flight. The senior remains undefeated in league play with a record of 5-0 in and improves 11-6 as she extends her win streak to five straight.
Senior Christina Auyeung clinched the team victory with her three-set win at the first flight. Auyeung is now 3-2 in league play and 11-6 overall.
Lehigh will return to action on Friday with a Patriot League dual at Army West Point.
