Lehigh Women Edged by Stony Brook, 4-3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks were unable to extend their win streak to three matches as they were edged by Stony Brook, 4-3, Saturday at the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh is now 2-2 on the season while the Seawolves improve to 1-2.

Lehigh began the match by sweeping the doubles flights for the first time this season. Casey Zhong and Christina Auyeung extended their win streak to three-straight with a 6-3 victory at first flight. Sibel Can and Grace Lin picked up their second-straight win with their 6-4 victory at the second flight. Leigh Friedman and Kirstin Godau paired up for the first time this season and came out victorious at the third flight.

Auyeung got back in the win column as she won in straight sets at the top flight. The senior captain is now 3-1 on the season.

Freshman Paula Gonzalez also posted her second-straight victory with her straight-set victory while playing her first match at the second flight. Gonzalez is now 2-2 on the season.

Lehigh will be back in action Sunday at 2 p.m. against Delaware at Lewis Tennis Center.
