BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Ohio State on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tilt with the Buckeyes. The game will be streamed live on BTN Plus ($).
Lehigh (1-1) opened the season last Friday with a 3-2 victory over two-time defending MAAC Champion Rider, followed by a 1-0 setback to George Washington at home on Sunday. The Buckeyes (1-1) are also coming off a split in their season opening home stand. OSU opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Pittsburgh last Friday, followed by a 3-0 loss to Florida International on Sunday.
Preseason All-Patriot League selection Mark Forrest led the Brown and White offensively last weekend as he posted his third career hat trick in the win over Rider. Forrest looks to be on his way to defending his title as Lehigh's top goal scorer for the third-straight season as he currently leads the Patriot League in goals and points so far this year.
Michael Prosuk has Ohio State's lone tally on the season with his 90th-minute game winner against Pittsburgh. OSU's three Big Ten preseason honorees, Nate Kohl, Abdi Mohamed and Hunter Robertson, have combined for four total shots this season.
Friday's match will mark the first meeting between the Mountain Hawks and Buckeyes, and it will mark Lehigh's first matchup with a Big Ten opponent since Maryland in 2014. Ohio State has not fared well against teams from the Patriot League as the Buckeyes own a combined record of 1-4-2 against league opponents dating back to 1992.
Following Friday's match in Columbus, Lehigh will be back on the road with a trip to Cornell on Friday, Sept. 8.
