BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer played its final non-league game of the regular season, hosting the Seton Hall Pirates on Tuesday evening. The Mountain Hawks fell to the Pirates by a score of 5-1.

"It's tough to play a really good team like this midweek when you're out five starters," said Ingrassia Family men's head soccer coach Dean Koski. "While we had our moments, this has to be a throwaway game for us."

Seton Hall (6-2-6) got the scoring started in the 12th minute when Sam Bjork scored on an assist from Til Kauschke. Lehigh (7-5-3) generated several chances of their own in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net. The Pirates extended their lead with a goal from Pyry Lampinen in the 45th minute to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Mountain Hawks offense started to get going in the second half, outshooting the Pirates 12-11. However, Seton Hall added to their lead with goals from Mikkel Lejbowicz (48', 64') and Joseph Waight (84'). Lehigh found the back of the net in the 85th minute when senior Matthew Aitchison scored his first career goal on an assist from sophomore Giacomo Zizza.

"Matt has stepped up in a number of situations for us this year," said Koski. "He played 90 minutes for us today. He's a great defender and I'm glad that he found a goal."

Zizza recorded five shots on the night while Thomas Robertson, Shea Coughlin, Yusef Gueye, Luciano Larrea, Thomas Deroussel and Aitchison also provided shots for Lehigh. Goalkeepers Anton Kinnunen and Calan Armitage made two saves each.

Every active player on Lehigh's roster played in Tuesday's match.

"The thing that I'm most pleased with is that everybody who was available on the bench got a chance to play," said Koski. "With it being our last non-league game, I was really happy that I was able to get those players some minutes."

The Mountain Hawks continue the Patriot League season on Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m. on the road against Boston University.

"Our sights have to be on Boston," said Koski. "We have to be ready to go up there and compete. We still need to get points; we're not in the playoffs yet. Boston's a really good team, and that's a challenging place to play, so that's going to be our focus the next three days."
