Martin-Dyer and Edelchik Win Doubles at Farnsworth Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Lehigh men's tennis wrapped up play on Sunday at the three-day Farnsworth Invitational hosted by Princeton in the team's second event this fall.

Sophomore Jack Martin-Dyer and freshman Jacob Edelchik headlined the weekend for Lehigh as the pairing won the B doubles title. The duo went 4-0 on the weekend with an 8-4 win in the championship match over Bryant's Luke Lorenz and Philip Belmatch. Lehigh's pairing also defeated pairings from Princeton, Temple and NJIT en route to their finals match.

Juniors George Cooper and Bryant Born also made a finals appearance in their doubles competition. The duo advanced to the A doubles consolation final where they fell 9-1 to Aswin Lizen and Ammar Alhaqbani of Virginia. Cooper and Born went 2-2 on the weekend with wins over pairings from Temple and St. Johns on their way to the consi finals.

Born had the best individual performance on the weekend as he advanced to the semifinal round of the D singles bracket. The junior suffered defeat to the eventual champion, Philip Belmatch (Bryant), but picked up two wins over competitors from Middlebury and Princeton.

The Mountain Hawks return to action Friday to begin the three-day Patriot League Kickoff hosted by Lehigh.
