Lehigh Men Dominate NJIT in Sunday Swim

RESULTS
NEWARK, N.J. ā The Lehigh men's swimming team claimed victories in eight of 11 events and had three swimmers win multiple events in a 111-86 road win at NJIT on Sunday afternoon.
Lehigh swept the top three spots in the 1000 freestyle with Jacob Moyar taking the top spot with a winning time of 9:50.14. Nico Lastauskas finished second with a time of 9:51.44 and Daniel Brooks captured third with a time of 10:03.65.
The Mountain Hawks claimed the top two spots in the 200 freestyle. Walker Wilson recorded the winning time of 1:45.88, while Dean Shafritz came in second with a mark of 1:46.42.
Lehigh continued its run of success in the freestyle events as Zach Tieke and Jamal Willis clinched the top two spots in the 50 free. Tieke won the event with a time of 21.54 and Willis came in second at a time of 22.19.
Justin Kostelnik edged out teammate Justin White to earn the top finish in the 200 IM. Kostelnik posted a winning time of 1:57.05, while White recorded a time of 1:57.44 to finish second.
Moyar picked up his second win of the day as he posted the fastest time of the season for Lehigh in the 100 butterfly with a mark of 50.87. Kostelnik captured third place with a time of 54.74.
Tieke earned his second victory of the day by posting a time of 46.74 in the 100 freestyle. Willis finished second for his second top-two finish of the day with a time of 49.68.
Wilson became Lehigh's third swimmer to win multiple events on the day as he posted a winning time of 53.84 in the 100 backstroke. Brooks captured another top-three finish with a time of 56.70 to finish third.
White added his name to the list victors on the day as he posted the top time in the 500 freestyle with a mark of 4:42.24.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on January 21 in a Patriot League dual at Bucknell starting at 1 p.m.
