Strong Senior Performances for Lehigh Men in Final Meet

RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. ā The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team capped off the regular season with one final home dual meet and fell 144-118 to a talented Drexel team. The Mountain Hawks posted wins in five individual events and one relay event and the visiting Dragons set two new pool records.
On a special day for the Lehigh seniors, Justin White, Jamal Willis and Jacob Moyar each posted individual victories with White leading the way with two.
Swimming in his final meet at Jacobs Pool, senior White produced Lehigh's first win of the day on the men's side as he claimed the top spot in the 200 freestyle with the winning time of 1:41.41.
More seniors made big contributions on the day as seniors Moyar and Justin Kostelnik landed a one-two punch in the 200 butterfly. Moyar claimed the top spot with a winning time of 1:51.49 and Kostelnik placed second with a time of 1:53.90. Earlier, Moyar produced a second place finish in the 1000 freestyle and later on placed second in the 200 IM.
Senior teammates also went one-two in the 50 freestyle. Willis recorded the winning time of 20.97, while White came in second with a time of 21.25. Zach Tieke placed third with a time 21.41 to make it a Lehigh sweep at the top.
White claimed his second victory and his third top-two finish on Senior Day after claiming the top spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.24. Tieke placed third and Willis placed fourth as Lehigh produced a strong showing in the event.
Jimmy Davey came through with a win for Lehigh in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.98. Kostelnik came in fifth with a time of 52.75.
Dean Shafritz put together a solid performance in a closely contested 100 backstroke race as he placed second with a time of 52.18.
Walker Wilson led the Lehigh men in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.79 to place second.
Tyler Christ led the way for Lehigh in the 100 breaststroke as he posted a time of 59.41 to place third.
In the 200 medley relay, the foursome of Dean Shafritz, Tyler Chirst, Moyar and Willis teamed up to finish second by less than a full second off the winning pace with a time of 1:35.39.
Lehigh closed out the meet with victory in the 200 freestyle relay. Tieke, Willis, Daniel Brooks and White compiled the winning time of 1:23.79, which is the fastest mark this season.
Lehigh will take some to train and prepare for its next competition which will be the Patriot League Championships. Bucknell University will host the event on February 15-18.
