Edwards signs professionally with Evansville Otters

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Former Lehigh baseball pitcher J.R. Edwards '15 has signed professionally with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League, as recently announced. Edwards' best season in the Brown and White came as a senior, helping lead the Mountain Hawks to the 2015 Patriot League Championship as a consistent weekend starter.Â
Edwards posted a 3.67 ERA in 54 innings during that championship campaign. He allowed just 49 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 40. Included was a strong 2.2-inning effort in Game 2 of the Patriot League Championship Series at Navy, allowing just two hits while striking out three. Edwards finished his collegiate career with a 7-6 record and 4.01 ERA.
