
Lehigh hosts Colgate in Patriot League showdown Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team continues Patriot League play Saturday when the Mountain Hawks welcome Colgate. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
Lehigh is 10-3 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks are coming off their first road match of the spring season last Saturday when Lehigh dropped a close 4-3 battle at defending champion Navy. The Mids jumped ahead 3-0 before Lehigh rallied to tie the match at 3-3 thanks to singles victories from freshman Bryant Born, junior Colin Nardella and sophomore Jack Petersen, but Navy earned a three-set win at No. 4 singles to clinch the match. The Mountain Hawks earned a 7-0 sweep of Loyola in Lehigh's Patriot League opener on March 20.
Petersen leads Lehigh for the season with an 11-1 singles record and 2-0 mark against league opponents. Junior Ethan Bogard and freshman George Cooper have each secured eight singles victories, while senior Jeremy Kochman has captured seven wins at the top flight. Kochman leads the team with nine doubles victories playing alongside classmate Ricardo Prince or junior Graham Lehman.
Colgate carries a 10-4 spring record into Saturday's match and the Raiders are 1-1 against Patriot League opponents. Colgate suffered a 4-3 setback to Boston University last Sunday in the team's most recent action. The Raiders opened league play with a 7-0 win at Holy Cross.
The Mountain Hawks earned four singles victories to pick up a 4-3 win over the Raiders on last season's meeting on April 11, 2015 in Verona, N.Y.
Following Saturday's match, Lehigh will remain home to host Bucknell on April 12 in the Mountain Hawks' final regular-season home match.
