BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the 2015 Lehigh football season set to kick off Friday night, Lehigh announced its football broadcast schedule Wednesday. Five Lehigh football games are guaranteed to be televised in 2015, while streaming video will be available in some capacity for all 11 games, including eight contests on the Patriot League Network. ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley, located at 1230 (WEEX-AM, Easton) and 1320 (WTKZ, Allentown) will once again serve as the radio home of Lehigh Athletics, with ESPN Radio carrying Lehigh football games for the 12th consecutive year.
Â
Locally, Lehigh's first three home games can be seen in the Lehigh Valley on Service Electric Cable's award-winning 2 Sports outlet. Service Electric is the area's largest cable provider.
Â
For the 151st meeting of college football's most-played rivalry, Lehigh returns to the airwaves of WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa. which will provide local and regional coverage of Lehigh football for the 26th time in 27 years. The WFMZ-TV signal covers the entire Lehigh Valley, while stretching to Philadelphia, Reading, and Western New Jersey. Additional regional and national broadcast coverage for the Lehigh-Lafayette game is still pending at this time.
Â
Nationally known and respected announcing teams plus high-quality production are also distinctions of Lehigh football telecasts. Steve Degler (television analyst for Lehigh Valley IronPigs baseball) and former Lehigh linebacker Mike Yadush '93 call the action on a national and regional level. Locally, Mike Zambelli (Service Electric Sports Director and voice of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs) joins Yadush to handle the announcing duties with Al Di Carlo patrolling the sidelines.Â
Â
In addition to Lehigh football telecasts on WFMZ-TV, New Century Productions' remote production facilities routinely work with Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the PGA Tour. In 2008, Service Electric became the first television outlet in the country to broadcast all 72 home games for a Minor League Baseball team when SECTV teamed with the IronPigs – Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.Â
Â
All five home games, plus Lehigh's three Patriot League road contests will be streamed via the Patriot League Network, powered by Campus Insiders. Entering its third season of existence, Lehigh will stream nearly 200 events across a myriad of sports on the Patriot League Network in 2015-16.
Â
Campus Insiders will be producing its own exclusive online video broadcast for Holy Cross' visit to Goodman Stadium on November 7. Road games at Bucknell, Fordham and Colgate will also air on PLN while the November 14 showdown with the Raiders in Hamilton, N.Y. will also be televised in Central New York by Time Warner Cable Sports.
Â
Video streaming options are also available for Lehigh's three non-league road tilts. The September 4 season opener at Central Connecticut State will air for free via NEC Front Row, the official streaming platform of the Northeast Conference. The Mountain Hawks' September 12 game at James Madison will be streamed via Madizone HD Sportsnet, JMU's streaming operation. The September 26 game at Princeton will air on the subscription-based Ivy League Digital Network.
Â
Lehighsports.com will continue to produce football-specific video content throughout the season as well. The Lehigh Football Report will air every Thursday morning throughout the season on Lehighsports.com and will feature game highlights, interviews with coaches and student-athletes, features and more including an appearance from head coach Andy Coen each week.
Â
Lehigh football can be heard on commercial radio exclusively on the home of Lehigh Athletics, ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley (1230 and 1320 AM) beginning with the September 12 game at James Madison. Well-respected veteran Matt Kerr is back to call the play-by-play for his 19th season. Kerr will be joined in the booth by former Lehigh standouts Lance Haynes '94 and Mike Yadush '93. Once again, ESPN Radio's Matt Markus will report live from the sidelines, while teaming with Kerr in the booth for select game broadcasts. Radio coverage begins an hour prior to kick-off with the Countdown to Kick-Off show, hosted by Markus and ESPN Radio Program Director Tom Fallon.
Â
Outside of the local broadcast area, audio of Lehigh football games will be streamed on ESPNLV.com, the official web site of ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley.
Â
For the first time since 2010, Lehigh football returns to the airwaves of Lehigh's student-run station, WLVR-FM, located at 91.3 on the FM dial. Lehigh's commercial broadcast team featuring Kerr and Markus will broadcast the Mountain Hawks' opener at Central Connecticut State on Friday September 4.
Â
Kickoff for Friday's season-opener is set for 7 p.m. from Arute Field in New Britain, Conn. Pregame coverage on WLVR-FM begins at 6 p.m.
