BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team will play its final two games before postseason play begins Saturday when the Mountain Hawks host DeSales in a doubleheader slated to begin at noon. Free video of both nine-inning games will be available on the Patriot League Network.

Lehigh is 6-2 in its last eight games and has won 14 of its last 21 contests. Head coach Sean Leary enters Saturday's doubleheader just one win away from earning the 400th victory of his career. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a big 11-1 win at Iona Tuesday. Senior John Elson recorded six RBI while three members of the Mountain Hawk pitching held Iona to just four hits. Elson's six RBI came from a 3-for-4 showing at the plate that included a home run, walk and two runs scored. Sophomore Jacen Nalesnik was a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish and crossed the plate a team-best four times, while classmate David Young went 3-for-4.  Junior Mike Garzillo scored three runs while sophomore John Scarr knocked in a pair. Sophomore Connor Donovan earned the win on the mound after tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless and hitless relief.

Garzillo leads Lehigh with a .364 batting average, .605 slugging percentage and 38 RBI. Senior Justin Pacchioli follows with a batting average of .349 and a .489 on-base percentage that leads the league and ranks 17th nationally. Pacchioli, who broke the Lehigh career stolen bases record last weekend at Lafayette, also leads the league and ranks 25th in the nation with .55 stolen bases per game. Sophomores Patrick Donnelly (27) and Jacen Nalesnik (25) ranks second and third on the team in RBI, respectively.

Seniors J.R. Edwards (0-3, 3.56 ERA), Nick Macaione (2-4, 3.18 ERA), Nick Stephens (3-5, 4.09 ERA) and junior Kevin Long (2-1, 8.02 ERA) have all been strong starters for the Mountain Hawks this season. Junior Kevin Boswick hasn't allowed a run in his last 17.2 innings on the mound leads Lehigh's bullpen with three wins and two saves.

DeSales, a member of the Freedom Conference, carries a 25-13 overall record into Saturday's doubleheader. The Bulldogs have won 11 of their last 12 games, including a 7-6, 10-inning win over Misericordia on Wednesday. Tommy DePaul leads the team with a .461 batting average and 33 runs scored, while Colby Kulig is hitting .410 with a team-best 24 RBI. The Bulldogs are hitting .295 as a team compared to their opponents' average of .265.

DeSales holds a 4.59 team ERA. Steven Wallace and Andrew Schuler lead the team with four wins apiece, while Tyler Cooperman's 2.08 ERA is the squad's lowest. Wallace has fanned a team-best 41 batters and Evan Fraser has secured nine saves.

Following Saturday's doubleheader, Lehigh will begin preparations for next weekend's Patriot League Semifinal series. The second-seeded Mountain Hawks will host No. 3 Holy Cross in a best-of-three series at Legacy Park. A Saturday doubleheader will begin at noon, while Sunday's if-necessary game will start at 1 p.m. Free video will be available on the Patriot League Network.
