Two Lehigh football games picked up by NBC Sports Network

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Hours after completing Patriot League Media Day activities Wednesday, the Lehigh football team learned it will make two additional national television appearances this season. The Mountain Hawks' contests at Ivy League foes Princeton (September 21) and Columbia (October 12) will air live on NBC Sports Network as part of the Ivy League's television package.

This marks the first time Lehigh football will appear on NBC Sports Network, formerly branded as VERSUS. Last year Lehigh's men's basketball team battled VCU on NBC Sports Network.

Lehigh and Princeton will meet under the lights at Princeton Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff on September 21. The Mountain Hawks and Tigers have squared off 56 times, including seven straight seasons. Princeton leads the series 39-15-2, but Lehigh has won 11 of the last 14 games including three straight. Last year, Lehigh held off Princeton 17-14 at Goodman Stadium. The September 21 tilt will mark the fourth straight year that Princeton will open its season against the Mountain Hawks.

The Mountain Hawks will return to the NBC Sports Network on October 12 for their first visit to Columbia since 1998. Last year Lehigh met the Lions for the first time since 1999, posting a 35-14 win October 6 at Goodman Stadium. Lehigh and Columbia have met 17 times dating back to 1889 and the Mountain Hawks are unbeaten in their last nine meetings against the Lions with eight wins and a tie. The October 12 tilt is set for a noon start from Robert K. Kraft Field in New York.

Also confirmed for national television coverage is Lehigh's October 5 game at Fordham, which will be televised by CBS Sports Network as part of the Patriot League's television package.

The remainder of Lehigh's 2013 television package will be announced at a later date, with both regional and national television coverage likely for the 149th meeting between Lehigh and Lafayette November 23 at Goodman Stadium.

NBC Sports Network is available across the country through local cable and video providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 220 and Dish Network Channel 159. In the Lehigh Valley, NBC Sports Network can be found on Service Electric Dial Position 93.

The Mountain Hawks will begin preseason camp next week with the season opener against Central Connecticut State set for Saturday, September 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Goodman Stadium.
