BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off its first Patriot League title in school history, the Lehigh men's tennis team placed six student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, which was announced Tuesday. Senior captain Andrew Krentz was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's tennis for the second straight year last month.
Krentz, who in the spring posted a 3.92 grade point average majoring in Lehigh's IDEAS (Integrated Degree in Engineering and Arts and Sciences) program, has posted a perfect 4.0 in three of his eight semesters. The Illinois native has been one of Lehigh's most reliable singles players at the bottom of the lineup.
Second team All-Patriot League performers Mark Goldberg and Mitchell Petersen garnered spots on the honor roll, achieving a 3.54 in theatre and 3.74 in business respectively. Sophomore Ben Gilman, a first team All-Patriot League selection, posted a 3.38 GPA in Lehigh's College of Arts and Sciences. Also representing Lehigh on the honor roll is freshman Ricardo Prince with a 3.48 grade point average in the College Arts and Sciences.
A total of 29 student-athletes were named to the men's tennis Academic Honor Roll, led by Scholar-Athlete of the year Krentz.
To be eligible for the honor roll, the student-athlete must have a 3.20 or higher grade point average during the academic semester which coincides with his/her sport.
