BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team will travel to Lewisburg, Pa. this weekend for the Patriot League Championship hosted by Bucknell at the par-70 Bucknell Golf Course. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday with all seven league schools entering six players and scoring four.
The Mountain Hawks fared well in their last outing, Tuesday's Lehigh Valley Collegiate Cup, with all five scoring players finishing in the top 12 as Lehigh took second place in the field of four. Sophomore Andrew Arnold, junior Sean Keller and freshman Carlos Kim all finished as part of a five-way tie for second place, finishing just three over par at 74. Sophomore Alex DiClemente finished just one shot behi
nd with a 75. All four will compete this weekend for the Mountain Hawks.
Rounding out Lehigh's championship entries are senior leaders Tim Rosenhouse and Doug Marcincin. Rosenhouse finished tied for 12th at the Lafayette Invite earlier this month with teammate DiClemente, and was the Mountain Hawks' most-consistent player last week at the Navy Spring Invitational, posting rounds of 76 and 79.
Marcincin finished 12th overall at the Lehigh Valley Collegiate earlier this week, and is a two-time All-Patriot League second team performer, finishing sixth overall as a sophomore and eighth last year. Rosenhouse tied for 22nd a year ago.
In their last trip to Lewisburg, the Mountain Hawks finished sixth in a field of 13 at the Bucknell Fall Invite in September. Rosenhouse finished 11th overall in that event with a score of 216 (68, 72, 76). DiClemente and Arnold each posted final round scores of 74 in that event, with Arnold finishing 20th overall after shooting a 70 in his opening round back in September.
Last weekend, Lehigh competed against four other Patriot League squads at the Navy Invitational, where the Mountain Hawks finished 15th, behind Navy, Colgate, Bucknell and Lafayette.
Last year Lehigh and Bucknell tied for fifth at the league championship in Annapolis. Army captured the team title by four strokes over Navy.
The winner of the Patriot League Championship earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals next month.
The first tee-times for Saturday's opening round will begin at 8 a.m., while Sunday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.
