Cronin Ties For Third, Lehigh Claims Sixth at Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. – First-year Ryan Cronin tied for third place to lead the Lehigh men's golf team at the Patriot League Championship, which wrapped up Sunday at the West Point Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks shot 294 Sunday to finish the 54-hole event at 888 (297-297-294) and finished sixth out of eight teams.

Cronin earned a spot on the six-player All-Tournament team, shooting 215 (71-69-75) for the weekend. Â The 36-hole leader started five over through nine holes Sunday, then steadied the ship, shooting even par 35 with three birdies on the back nine. Cronin finished three strokes behind Navy's Chip Deegan and Lafayette's Travis Robertson. Deegan defeated Robertson on the third playoff hole to win the individual title at 212.

Navy also rallied Sunday to win the team title at 864, five strokes better than Lafayette. The Midshipmen shot three under par 277 on Sunday to move up from fourth place.

Senior Will Caronchi was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher at 224 (75-75-72), which tied for 14th place. Caronchi and first-year Noah Zyung both shot 72 Sunday to lead the Mountain Hawks. He made 14 pars in his final round before making birdie in the final hole of his college career.

Zyung tied for 28th place at 228 (78-78-72) and made three birdies in his final round.

Junior Matthew Quinn tied for 30th place at 229 (75-77-77). Quinn's final round included two birdies.

Seniors Jake Roth and Aiden LeBlanc tied for 32nd place at 230. Roth went 76-79-75 with three birdies Sunday, while LeBlanc carded two, shooting 78-76-76 on the weekend.
