Lehigh Ties For Eighth at Irish Creek Intercollegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Lehigh men's golf team finished up action Tuesday at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate at the Club at Irish Creek. The Mountain Hawks shot a final round 302 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 884 (293-289-302), putting Lehigh in a tie for eighth place in the 11-team field.

Senior Jake Roth was Lehigh's top finisher, tying for 19th place at 217 (72-68-77). Roth's second round 68 was the low round of the tournament for the Mountain Hawks. He made one birdie in Tuesday's final round.

First-year Ryan Cronin and senior Will Caronchi tied for 27th place at 220. Caronchi went 73-73-74 with two birdies in his final round, while Cronin shot 75-73-72 and had two birdies Tuesday.

Junior Matthew Quinn tied for 61st place at 229 (73-76-80). He carded one birdie in his final round.

The low round of the day for Lehigh was turned in by senior Aiden LeBlanc. Competing as an individual, LeBlanc shot even par 71 with two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars. He tied for 67th place at 231 (82-78-71).

Junior Charles Schrohe tied for 69th place at 235 (81-75-79). Schrohe made one birdie in his final round.

Catawba won the team title at four over par 856, beating host Appalachian State by two strokes.

North Carolina A&T's Ignacio Zapata was the individual medalist at five under par 208 (70-71-67).

Lehigh returns to action at Lafayette's ABARTA Collegiate Invitational, Apr. 12-13 at Northampton CC in Easton.
