Cronin Shares Lead After Opening Round of Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lehigh first-year Ryan Cronin is part of a four-way tie for first place after round one of the Patriot League Championship Friday at the West Point Golf Course. Cronin fired a one over par 71 Friday as Lehigh shot 297 as a team to sit in fifth place out of eight teams.

Cronin made five birdies Friday and was three under par over his final five holes. He is tied with Navy's Jack Tarzy and Leo Chu and Alex Elia from Holy Cross.

Senior Will Caronchi and junior Matthew Quinn both shot 75 and are tied for 20th place. Caronchi made one birdie while Quinn birdied two of his final three holes.

Senior Jake Roth is tied for 25th place after shooting 76 with two birdies.

Sophomore Noah Zyung and senior Aiden LeBlanc shot 78 and are part of a tie for 36th place. Both Mountain Hawks made two birdies in their opening rounds Friday.

Army and Navy both shot 293 to lead the team race by one stroke over Holy Cross and Loyola.

The Patriot League Championship continues Saturday with round two, beginning at 8 a.m. Lehigh will play with Lafayette and Holy Cross with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
