List named Patriot League Player of the Month

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior captain Troy List has been named Patriot League Male Tennis Player of the Month for February, the league announced Friday. List, the league's Player of the Year in 2009, went 7-2 at No. 1 singles and 7-2 playing alongside Collin Laffey at No. 1 doubles over the first month-plus of the season for Lehigh, which has won seven of its first ten matches this season.
The award is the third Player of the Month honor for List, who is in his third season manning Lehigh's No. 1 singles and doubles spot. List was a catalyst for the Mountain Hawks' recent six match win streak as he helped propel Lehigh to one of its best starts in school history. He won six straight singles matches to close out February and is riding a seven match singles winning streak overall. List now owns a 48-25 spring singles record for the Brown and White.
In doubles action, List and Laffey's early season success has garnered them national recognition. The senior duo entered the national rankings at No. 71 three weeks ago and are ranked No. 74 in the latest ITA doubles poll. List and Laffey were on a six match-win streak prior to a loss Wednesday against Delaware. Included in that streak was an 8-5 win over the 40th ranked doubles team from Stetson. List and Laffey were one tiebreak loss away from an eight match win streak last month.
The Mountain Hawks will now head to Florida for two matches over spring break. Lehigh will face Florida Gulf Coast Sunday at 1 p.m. and SIU-Edwardsville Tuesday at 9 a.m., with both matches to be played in Fort Myers, Fla.
