Patriot League announces preseason golf poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its 2011 preseason golf poll on Tuesday, with Lehigh picked to finish fifth at the league championship, which will take place April 30 and May 1 at the Naval Academy Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks recorded their best finish since 2004 in last year's championships, after placing second with a score of 909 (307,300,302).
Lehigh will have to fill the void left by the graduation of First Team All-Patriot League selection Steve Suarez who placed second individually at the 2010 championship after shooting 222 (70, 74, 78).The Mountain Hawks opened their spring schedule on March 11 with a fifth place finish at the St. John's Spring Fling at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Lehigh completed the three day tournament with a 54-hole score of 908 (309,301,298). The Mountain Hawks were led by senior Duncan Zeiders who tied for ninth after shooting 223 (73, 74, 76). Zeiders is one of three returning second team All-League selections along with co-captains senior Dwight D'Iorio and junior Doug Marcincin.
Rounding out the Lehigh roster are junior Tim Rosenhouse, sophomore Sean Keller and freshman Andrew Arnold and Alex DiClemente.
Lehigh will return to action at the Lafayette Invitational, April 9-10 in Center Valley, Pa. The Mountain Hawks will also take part in the Navy Invitational (April 16-17) and the Lehigh Valley Collegiate (April 21) before league championship at Navy.
