Mountain Hawks remain sixth after day two in Florida

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Day two is in the books at Lehigh's season-opening St. John's Spring Fling at the Mission Inn Resort. The Mountain Hawks improved eight strokes from Friday's opening round as they remain in sixth place with a 36-hole score of 610 (309, 301). Lehigh sits 18 strokes behind the leaders, Stetson, who scored a 592 (297, 295).
Senior Duncan Zeiders sat in a tie for eighth place at the end of day one and remains in a tie for eighth after a two over par 74 on Saturday. Zeiders (73, 74 = 147) is five shots behind the leader Sam Ryder of Stetson who sits at two under 142 (72, 70).Freshman Andrew Arnold turned in the best round of the day for Lehigh on Saturday, with a one over 73, which moved him into a tie for 51st at 159 (86, 73).
Others who competed for Lehigh were junior Doug Marcincin, who is tied for 20th at 153 (77, 76), senior Dwight D'Iorio who is tied for 37th at 156 (78, 78), and junior Tim Rosenhouse who is at 157 (79, 78) which ties him for 41st.
Freshman Alex DiClemente is competing as an individual at the tournament and is tied for 26th at 154 (80, 74).
In the team race, Stetson leads second place IPFW by five shots, with Appalachian State (601), Western Kentucky (605) and Laval (606) sitting ahead of the Mountain Hawks.
Action at the St. John's Spring Fling at the Mission Inn Resort concludes with 18 holes Sunday at the Mission Inn Resort.
