Lehigh finishes competition at NYC Gotham Cup

On the women’s side, Lehigh produced top ten finishes in the unseeded 60 meter dash, the unseeded mile run, the unseeded 800 meter run, the unseeded 60 meter hurdles, the 4x800 meter relay, the pole vault and the seeded mile run. Freshman Ashlee Atwell had the highest finish for the Mountain Hawks, placing fifth in the pole vault by jumping a height of 10’10” (3.30 meters). Meanwhile, Lehigh’s 4x800 meter relay team of sophomores Shannon Alejandro, Sarah Serwo, Jennifer Therkorn and freshman Jillian Randolph finished sixth (9:50.96). The Mountain Hawks had two eighth place finishes (freshman Megan Boyle in the unseeded 60 meter hurdles and Alejandro in the seeded mile run), two ninth place finishes (junior Rachel Stewart in the unseeded 60 meter dash and Therkorn in the unseeded 800 meter run) and one tenth place finish (freshman Jennifer Curran in the unseeded mile run).
On the men’s side, sophomores Garrett Zambrows and Domenic Aversa and Lehigh’s 4x800 meter relay team all placed in the top ten. Zambrows placed seventh in the unseeded mile run, completing the race in a time of 4:22.25. Aversa placed in a five-way tie for tenth place in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13’3½“ (4.05 meters). The 4x800 meter relay team of senior Greg Horn, junior Kyle Manning and freshmen Matthew Foley and Phillip Wright finished sixth in a time of 8:03.36.
