Several Mountain Hawks compete at Crowell Open

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lehigh had several athletes enter the Carleton Crowell Open at Gillis Field House on January 8-9. Other teams competing at the meet consisted of Army, NJIT, Albany, Seton Hall, Sacred Heart and Holy Cross.
Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks was senior Nick Ray who took first in the shot put with a throw of 51’ 1” and third in the weight throw (52’ 3”). Also competing in field events was junior Emily Settle who finished second in the women’s weight throw with a throw of 48’ 10”.
Freshman Victoria Berard took first in the 3000 with a time of 10:51.89 and was followed by senior Nicole Page who finished second with a time of 11:05.69. Another freshman, Alyssa Donahue, ran a strong 800 and took second with a time of 1:22.48.
Other Mountain Hawks that competed were junior Krista Belick, sophomore Idelis Matias and freshmen E’lana Lemon and Christos Rallis.
Lehigh will be back in action on January 16 at the Navy Invitational beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Annapolis, Md.
