LU places six on Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh placed six student-athletes on the Patriot League women’s tennis Academic Honor Roll announced by the league Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Ariela Cohen led the Mountain Hawks with a 3.70 grade point average, as five of Lehigh’s six starting singles players were named to the honor roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete must obtain at least a 3.2 GPA and be awarded a varsity letter in his or her sport.

Others joining Cohen on the honor roll include freshman Allie Schwartz and junior Gwen Dwyer, who was previously named to the all-league first team for her performance on the court. Juniors Ashley Donahue, Lindsay Long and Francesca Murasko-Blank were also named to the honor roll for the Mountain Hawks, who finished the 2006 season with a 9-10 record.

In all, 28 women’s tennis student-athletes were named to the honor roll, led by American senior Julia Colarusso, who was named the league’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
