Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh took on Stony Brook University Sunday afternoon at the Lewis Tennis Center in what turned out to be a disappointing outing for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh fell 7-0, making their record 7-6, while Stony Brook improved their season record to 2-2. Lehigh fought to the end, but was unable to dominate against the tough Seawolves. Lehigh’s only win of the day came in first doubles, as the team of Ryan Cann and Matt Dankner pulled out the victory against Stony Brook’s Jens Pillgram-Larsen and Egil Anonsen 9-7. Lehigh dropped the other two doubles matches, resulting in Stony Brook taking the point for best two of three in doubles. Stony Brook took the sweep in singles play, winning all six matches. Lehigh’s Ty Esler and Andrew Shapiro (second and fifth singles, respectively) did not go down easily, both stretching out three-set matches. Lehigh returns to action when it takes on Villanova on Tuesday at the Lehigh Tennis Center, with the action beginning at 3:00pm. Singles vs. Stony Brook
