Four Mountain Hawks make semifinals

Bethlehem, PA – The men’s tennis team hosted the Patriot League Championships at the Lewis Tennis Center at Goodman Campus. Four of the six Mountain Hawks’ singles players won in their quarterfinal matches. Unfortunately, each would then fall in the semifinals. Ryan Cann was a winner in the number two singles quarterfinal, besting Bucknell’s Nick Denefrio 6-3, 6-4. Craig Ditman also beat a Bucknell player, outlasting Todd Jacobs 6-4, 7-5. In the number five singles, Andrew Shapiro dropped the first set, but rebounded to advance against Evan Ambrose of Colgate 6-7, 6-2, 6-2. Dave Slobatkin won his number six singles match in straight sets, topping Devin Murhpy of Lafayette 7-5, 6-1. Saturday’s action ceased after the completion of the semifinal rounds of both singles and doubles action. Play will resume Sunday morning at 9:00 am. Lehigh Results
