Lehigh sits in seventh place after first day in Ga.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Lehigh sits in seventh place after two rounds of play at the GEICO Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Hunter Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks shot a 615 (312, 303) on Friday on the par-72 course, which places Lehigh behind Southern Illinois (301, 293 = 594)), Seton Hall (307, 296 = 603), Yale (308, 295 = 603), Bryant (307, 300 = 607), Ohio Wesleyan (307, 302 = 609) and Appalachian State (314, 296 = 610). Freshman Tim Rosenhouse was Lehigh’s top performer on the first 36 holes, shooting a 149 (74, 75) which places him in a tie for sixth place overall.
Other Mountain Hawks that competed on Friday were Will Robinson who is tied for 30th place with a 154 (78, 76), Shane Gilroy who is tied for 33rd after shooting a 155 (80, 75), Steve Suarez who shot a 157 (80, 77) and is tied for 46th place and Duncan Zeiders who shot a 160 (82, 78).
Tom Hayes of Savannah College of Art and Design is currently the overall individual leader with a two round score of 146 (72, 74), while Southern Illinois’ Patrick Scheil (71, 76) and Todd Obergoenner (82, 65) are tied for second place with identical 147 scores.
The tournament’s final round will be played on Saturday.
