Abdullah signed by World Champions

Former Lehigh running back Rabih Abdullah was recently signed by the World Champion New England Patriots. This is Abdullah’s third NFL team that he will have played for, having enjoyed stints with both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears. Abdullah, who graduated in 1998, left Lehigh as the all-time leading rusher with 3,696 yards and as the single season leader in rushing yards as well with 1,536 1in 1995.
Abdullah played for the Bucaneers from 1998-2001, appearing in 43 games, and then moved onto the Bears where he played in 31 games. Abdullah saw time on both special teams and running back, and has caught 14 passes during his professional career in addition to having 20 kick returns and 70 tackles. Abdullah gained 1,225 yards and caught 29 passes as a senior at Lehigh, which ended with him earning MVP honors in the Lehigh-Lafayette Classic, as well as the Archibald Cup, given annually to the Most Outstanding Player on the Lehigh football team.
