Soggy conditions change Lehigh gameplan Friday

“I’m going to have to get [WFMZ-TV Chief Meteorologist] Ed Hanna’s cell phone number,” joked Lehigh head coach Pete Lembo as the student-athletes began stretching at the start of Friday’s three-hour session. “[Being on the turf] is an adjustment, but we’ll make the most of the situation.”
The Mountain Hawks’ Friday afternoon practice marked day five of the NCAA-mandated single-session workouts. The squad was in full pads and helmets on the turf on Friday. Following practice, the team spent time reviewing film with their positional coaches, and gearing up for two-a-days, which get underway beginning Saturday.
Saturday’s first practice will take place beginning at 8:15 am, with a night session tentatively scheduled for about 8:00. Due to the impending heavy rains expected from the remnants of Tropical Storm Bonnie and the approach of Hurricane Charley, Saturday’s practices will likely take place once again on the artificial turf field. If heavy downpours continue into Saturday, activities will be moved across the street inside Rauch Field House.
