Bethlehem, PA – Six football players were among Lehigh student-athletes named to the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll, the league announced today. To be eligible for the recognition, a student must post at least a 3.2 overall grade point average (GPA) and earn a varsity letter in one of the league’s seven sponsored fall championship sports. Senior Dave Crockett headlines the list of Lehigh football players represented on the list. Crockett posted a 3.82 GPA last fall as a double major in accounting and supply chain management. The Turnersville, N.J. native was also recognized as a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and was voted the team’s scholar-athlete of the year. In addition to Crockett, five other seniors qualified for the league’s academic honor. Steve Hluschak (history, 3.54), Trevor Micklos (marketing, 3.5), Chad Schwenk (supply chain management/marketing, 3.5), Matt Cappelletti (mathematics, 3.5), and Tyler Hart (marketing, 3.3) all made the list. Their success in the classroom didn’t hamper Lehigh’s long-standing tradition of winning football. The Mountain Hawks were 8-3 in 2003, marking their sixth consecutive season of eight or more victories.
