National powers collide Saturday at Goodman
10/9/2003 12:00:00 AM | Football
It’s a battle of nationally ranked undefeated teams, as No. 19 Lehigh hosts No. 21 Penn at Goodman Stadium on Wachovia Scout Day Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks are 3-0 after downing Princeton by a 28-13 score last week in New Jersey. Meanwhile, the Quakers picked up a convincing 51-10 win over Duquesne in Penn’s opener last week.
In last week’s win over Princeton, Lehigh senior linebacker Tom McGeoy recorded a sack, picked off a pass, and recovered two fumbles – all in the first half. For his efforts, McGeoy was named the Patriot League and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Quakers are in search of their first-ever win at Goodman Stadium, a place where Penn is 0-3 all-time.
Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for just after 1:00, and a canned food drive will take place outside the stadium prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned goods to the game that will be donated to those less fortunate.
Fans can see Saturday’s action live on Service Electric TV2 Sports. The game can be heard in the Lehigh Valley on Oldies 1470, WKAP. For ticket information, call the Lehigh Ticket Office at (610) 7LU-GAME, or visit the on-line ticketing page (link below).
