Salvaterra recognized by Athletic Directors

Bethlehem, PA – Senior Matt Salvaterra has been named to the Fifth Annual Division I-AA Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team. To be elgible, student-athletes are required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletic credentials.
Salvaterra started the first 46 games of his career at Lehigh before suffering an injury at Holy Cross this season. Despite missing two games, the two-time captain still finished fifth on the team in tackles and recorded two interceptions. Salvaterra recently was named to the All-Patriot League second team, and is a Verizon Academic All-District II selection. The dual psychology and education major currently holds a 3.62 grade point average.
In his Lehigh career, Salvaterra posted a record of 41-8. He made three appearances in the NCAA playoffs, and was a part of three Patriot League championship teams.
