Lehigh, Fox Sports Net agree on 2003

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh Athletics has reached a verbal agreement with Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh to televise all 11 regular season football games nationally via DirecTV in 2003. Lehigh has always paved the way in football coverage among schools in the northeast, and the 2003 schedule marks the second consecutive year that every regular season game will be televised. Locally, the combination of WFMZ-TV and Service Electric Cable TV will broadcast every game live throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh is one of the largest regional sports networks in the country, reaching over 2.2 million homes in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland. In Pennsylvania, the station is available on cable to the entire state, with the exception of the Philadelpha and Lehigh Valley markets. Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh is also available nationwide to over 10.1 million homes on DirecTV, giving Lehigh fans all around the country a front row seat to Mountain Hawks football throughout the season.
The combination of WFMZ-TV and Service Electric Cable TV will team up to produce the broadcasts, and will air every game live throughout the Lehigh Valley. WFMZ-TV, Channel 69, reaches 5.1 million homes in the Lehigh Valley, western New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Service Electric Cable TV is the largest cable television outlet in the Lehigh Valley, airing games as part of its award-winning TV-2 sports programming.
Lehigh football has always been a big television draw. Over the last three seasons, Mountain Hawks football has averaged a 35% Nielsen audience share within the Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh opens its 2003 season on September 6, when the Mountain Hawks host Patriot League foe Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium.
