Lehigh fifth for second straight week

Bethlehem, PA – For the second straight week Lehigh is ranked fifth nationally by the Sports Network and ranked first in the east according to the Meadowlands Lambert Cup poll. The Mountain Hawks cracked the top five two weeks ago following a 21-14 win over Bucknell and have been sitting atop the Lambert poll for four straight weeks.
Despite beating arch-rival Lafayette 41-6 on Saturday afternoon, the Mountain Hawks fell one position to seventh in the ESPN/USA Today poll. Youngstown State jumped ahead of Lehigh with a 45-7 win over Elon.
Lehigh currently has the longest regular season winning streak in Division I at 23 games after completing its second consecutive undefeated regular season. The Mountain Hawks are 42-1 over the past four years during the regular season and 44-4 overall including a pair of wins in the NCAA Playoffs. Lehigh has earned a berth in the NCAA Playoffs again this year with its fourth straight Patriot League Championship.
