Salvaterra leads Academic All-District Team

Stamford, CT – Four Lehigh players were selected to the Verizon Academic All-District-2 Team on Friday November 16th. Junior defensive back Matt Salvaterra was one of six Patriot League players selected to the first team while juniors Dave Crockett, Darin Henry, and J.B. Henderson were selected to the second team.
All four players exceeded the minimum 3.2 grade point average required for the award in addition to excelling on the football field.
Salvaterra boasts a 3.55 GPA in Psychology and is arguable one of the best cornerbacks in the Patriot League. He is third on the team in tackles with 51, including six tackles for loss, and one sack. Salvaterra has recorded 11 pass break-ups and forced a fumble.
Henry has excelled in the classroom and on the field in his first season as the starting tight end for the Mountain Hawks. Henry currently has a 3.25 grade point average in architecture and has caught nine passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Dave Crockett is a member of Lehigh’s high explosive passing offense. He is fourth on the team in receiving with nine catches for 202 yards and a touchdown. An accounting major, Crockett currently has a 3.65 GPA.
One of four new starters on the Lehigh offensive line, Henderson has been an integral part of the Lehigh offense that is currently scoring 38.3 points per game and is averaging 405.3 yards per game. Henderson is an Economics major with a 3.69 grade point average.
Lehigh wrapped up its fourth consecutive Patriot League Championship and trip to the NCAA Playoffs with a 41-6 victory over arch-rival Lafayette this past weekend.
