BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A pair of teams fresh off their first league victories of the season meet Saturday at Goodman Stadium as Lehigh welcomes Yale on Homecoming. The Mountain Hawks shut out Georgetown last weekend 27-0 behind a dominating defensive effort, while the Bulldogs had their way with Dartmouth earning a 38-7 victory at the Yale Bowl. This weekend’s game is the final non-league contest of the season for Lehigh and Yale and marks their first meeting at Goodman Stadium since a 28-21 overtime win for the Mountain Hawks in 2005.
Junior Jay Campbell rushed for a career-best 111 yards in the win last weekend. It marked the first time a Lehigh running back went over the century mark since Matt McGowan totaled 178 yards at Holy Cross on October 25, 2008. Campbell currently leads the Mountain Hawks with 283 rushing yards on 62 carries.
Through five games Lehigh is allowing opponents to throw for an average of 126.8 yards per game, which is fourth in America. Dating back to last season the Mountain Hawks have held seven straight opponents to fewer than 200 yards passing.
Plenty of tickets are still available for the contest and can be purchased in one of three ways: by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office, located in Grace Hall, or by logging onto Lehighsports.com.
