BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh welcomes an Ivy League opponent to Goodman Stadium for the second straight week on Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks take on 2008 league champion Harvard. Lehigh is still searching for its first victory of the season after dropping a 17-14 decision to Princeton last week in a game the Brown and White dominated statistically. Junior Jay Campbell rushed for a career-high 88 yards in the contest, while sophomore quarterback Chris Lum came off the bench to spark the offense as he completed 11-of-18 passes for 135 yards and also rushed for one score, but it wasn’t enough. Harvard defeated league foe Brown in dramatic fashion 24-21 its last time out as the Crimson “D” stopped the Bears on four straight plays to close out the victory in Cambridge, Mass.
Lehigh’s offense featured a much more balanced attack last weekend as the Mountain Hawks ran the ball 39 times and attempted 40 passes. The first two games Lehigh averaged 20 rushing attempts and 35 passes. Junior Jay Campbell’s 22 rushing attempts were the most by a Lehigh player since Matt McGowan carried the ball 24 times in a win over Fordham on October 11, 2008.
Nine different Mountain Hawks caught at least one pass versus Princeton. The last time that many players caught at least one pass in a single game was September 8, 2007 versus Villanova. Nine Mountain Hawks also caught at least one pass that afternoon.
Plenty of tickets are still available for the contest and can be purchased in one of three ways: by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office, located in Grace Hall, or by logging onto Lehighsports.com.
