BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior defensive lineman Brian Jackson was recently named an honorable mention preseason All-American by Consensus Draft Services (CDS). In 2007, the New Jersey native was a First-Team All-Patriot League selection and Second-Team All-American as chosen by The Sports Network after totaling 63 tackles, including nine for loss and 5.5 sacks. Jackson is the only defensive lineman from the Patriot League named to the CDS Preseason All-America team.
Jackson registered a season-best ten tackles and two sacks in the 2007 season opener versus Villanova, and had at least five tackles in every game but two. He forced three fumbles during the season and finished second on the squad in total tackles.
The Mountain Hawks open their season on Saturday, September 6 as they play host to the Bulldogs of Drake University in the first-ever meeting between the schools. Kick off from Goodman Stadium is set for 12:30.
