Santiago enters his second season with the Mountain Hawks in 2024-25. In his first season with the Mountain Hawks, he helped lead the Mountain Hawks to 14 wins, which is tied for the most wins in program history. Under his leadership, Hamsa Javagal and Maggie Forkner both earned second team All-Patriot League honors in 2023-24.Â
Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Played national and international tournaments until 2017, achieving a career high national ranking of #5 in the U18 category.Â
Joined Rockhurst University — Kansas City, MO— in the fall ’18. Played four years for the tennis team. Competing mostly between two and four singles and one doubles, achieved more than 50 official wins overall. Under his captaincy in his last year, the Hawks achieved a DII ITA national ranking of #28. That particular season highlighted wins over the likes of St. Thomas Aquinas College and Metropolitan State University of Denver.Â
Spent the college summers really close to the tennis world. During the summer ’20, worked at a country club in Red Bank, NJ as an assistant tennis pro. While the summer ’21, competed at Strasbourg, France. Over the course of eight weeks, played a total of fourteen tournaments and achieved a 1/6 French Classement.Â
After graduating college, worked one full year at Van der Meer Tennis Academy (Hilton Head Island, SC) as a tennis pro. Mentored over forty high-performance junior athletes while giving private lessons to all types of players during his free time. Worked side to side with Derek Porter and Brian de Villiers. Â

Apart from tennis, named four consecutive years as ITA Scholar Athlete and included in eight semesters in the Dean’s list at Rockhurst. Graduated with a double major in Business Management and Economics. Starting his second yearof a Master of Arts in Politics and Policy at Lehigh this fall.
