Isabella Franks enters her first season as Graduate Assistant for the Lehigh women’s tennis program in 2020-21 after graduating from Marquette University in May 2020.
As a 2020 graduate from Marquette University, Franks was a 4-year starter on the Marquette Division 1 women’s tennis team. Franks primarily played in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions. She played the majority of her Senior and Junior seasons in No. 2 doubles with Elisabeth Desmarais and Milica Novakovic. Franks’ most notable singles wins where against the University of Iowa, Xavier, DePaul, Dartmouth, and Georgetown. Some notable doubles wins including Indiana University, University of Utah, University of Iowa, DePaul, and Dartmouth. As a Senior, Franks won the doubles decider and played No. 4 in Marquette’s first victory over rival DePaul University in 13 years.
Prior to Marquette: Franks was a four-year letter-winner at Brisbane Girls Grammar School…. She had a very decorated athletic career representing her State and country in a number of sports. Franks won the Sports Brooch in 2014 and 2015 for the School’s top athlete each year with 140 years of tradition with past winners representing Australia on the world stage. In addition, she achieved the BGGS Golden Boots for the whole School Athletics Champion in 2013, 2014 and 2015 after winning the 100m, 200m, 400m and high jump. She also won championships in three Australian Open women’s events… Represented Brisbane in the state championship at the Brisbane International in 2016 … Was selected as the top player for the Brisbane Chargers, a squad that competes in the prestigious Asia-Pacific Tennis League … Represented Queensland in the Australian U19 National Tennis Championships In 2014 and 2015.
Majored in psychology and graduated Cum Laude. On the Dean’s list for the College of Arts and Sciences…Part of the Psi Chi Honors Society and Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society. Currently completing a Master’s of Counseling Psychology at Lehigh University.
Personal: Franks a native of Brisbane, Australia…Parents are Ron and Debra … Has one older brother, Curtis who played professional rugby.
