Mountain Hawks Sweep Colgate 4-0, Finish Weekend 2-0 In League Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a historic win over Navy to begin the Patriot League season on Saturday, Lehigh men's tennis returned to the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon to welcome league foe Colgate. The Mountain Hawks swept the Raiders 4-0 to open the league slate 2-0.
Colgate (6-9, 2-2 PL) picked up the first win over Lehigh (8-7, 2-0 PL) in doubles competition thanks to a 6-4 win on the third court from Wittman Bulger and Aidan Lee. However, a pair of 7-5 wins from Sean Jaeger and Alex Van Lumich at number one and Wyeth Anzilotti and Henry Stoller at number two secured the opening doubles point for Lehigh.
Kosei Ogata got the Mountain Hawks on the board first in singles play thanks to a swift 6-1, 6-1 win over Bulger on court three. The next match to finish was at number six, where Stoller gutted out a three-set win over Jerome Falcon, putting the Mountain Hawks one win away from the clinch. A 6-4, 6-2 win from Van Lumich at number two secured Lehigh's second Patriot League win in a row.
Singles matches on courts one, four, and five were left unfinished.
The Mountain Hawks will return to play on Friday, April 3 at 2 p.m. on the road at Loyola Maryland.
