Lehigh Sweeps Loyola To Remain Unbeaten In League Play

BALTIMORE – After defeating Navy and Colgate last weekend, Lehigh men's tennis continued Patriot League play on Friday afternoon in Baltimore against the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds. The Mountain Hawks swept the Greyhounds 4-0 to continue their hot start to the Patriot League schedule.

Lehigh (9-7, 3-0 PL) earned the opening doubles point over Loyola (1-12, 0-4 PL) after two swift victories at doubles courts two and three. Alex Van Lumich and Aleksandar Daskalovic won 6-1 at number two while Kosei Ogata and Rafael Gracie won 6-0 at number three. The doubles match on court one was left unfinished.

Playing on the number one singles court, Van Lumich secured the first singles point for Lehigh with a 7-5, 6-0 victory. Daskalovic then defeated Ryan Gill in two sets at number three to put Lehigh within one win of the clinch. Ogata's 6-2, 7-5 win at number two secured the 4-0 sweep for Lehigh.

Singles matches on courts four, five, and six were left unfinished.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. on the road at Villanova University.
