Lehigh Sweeps Villanova 4-0, Wins Fourth Straight Match

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Riding a three-match winning streak, Lehigh men's tennis returned to action on Wednesday afternoon on the road at Villanova University. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Wildcats 4-0 to claim their fourth straight win.

Lehigh (10-7, 3-0 PL) picked up the opening doubles point over Villanova (5-14, 0-3 BE) thanks to wins on courts one and three. Kosei Ogata and Rafael Gracie got things started with a 6-3 win at number three before Henry Stoller and Wyeth Anzilotti won 6-4 at number one to seal the doubles point.

Fresh off the heels of his first career Patriot League Player of the Week award, Alex Van Lumich kicked off singles play for Lehigh with a two-set victory over Villanova's Cooper Gordon on court one. Aleksandar Daskalovic followed suit with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court three to bring the Mountain Hawks within one win of the clinch. Benedict Horn-Bourque's two-set win on court four secured the sweep for the Mountain Hawks.

Singles matches on courts two, five, and six were left unfinished.

The Mountain Hawks return to Patriot League play this weekend, facing Army West Point on Friday, April 10 at 4 p.m. and Boston U. on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at Army West Point.
