BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Peter E. Bennett '63 head baseball coach Sean Leary, now entering his 31st season as head coach, announced the 2026 Lehigh baseball schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks are slated to play 17 games at home this season at J. David Walker Field.
"The 2026 schedule is very challenging and will definitely prepare us for the Patriot League portion of the season," said Leary. "The team is excited to get things going in Miami in a month."
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 2025 season that saw the team fall in a win or go home game three against eventual champion Holy Cross in the Patriot League Championship semifinals. Four players earned all-league recognition, including center fielder Jake Whitlinger, who became Lehigh's first-ever Defensive Player of the Year award winner.
The Patriot League schedule has also been altered ahead of the 2026 season. Rather than playing every team five times, Lehigh will face three league opponents six times and two league opponents four times.
"The expanded league schedule only adds to the importance of the pre-league weekend opportunities," said Leary.
Lehigh opens the 2026 campaign in sunny Coral Gables, Florida for a three-game series against the University of Miami out of the ACC from February 13-15. Following the trip to Florida, the Mountain Hawks will head to the DMV area on back-to-back weekends, playing in D.C. at George Washington on February 20-22 and in Fairfax, Virginia at George Mason on February 27 to March 1.
While not at J. David Walker Field, the Mountain Hawks will compete in the Lehigh Valley on March 4 in a midweek clash against Muhlenberg College in Allentown. Lehigh then travels to North Carolina for a three-game series with Davidson on March 6-8 before welcoming Saint Peter's to Bethlehem on March 11 for the team's home opener.
Patriot League play begins for Lehigh at home with three games against Navy on March 13-15. The Mountain Hawks will welcome Penn to J. David Walker Field for a midweek game on March 18 before hosting Holy Cross for three games on March 21-22.
Lehigh welcomes FDU to J. David Walker Field on March 24 before heading to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for a three-game series on March 27-29 against Patriot League foe Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks conclude the month on March 31 at home against Saint Joseph's in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic.
April begins for Lehigh on the road for a three-game series against Navy on April 4-5 in Annapolis. The Mountain Hawks will play in round two of the Liberty Bell Classic on April 7 against an opponent yet to be determined. Lehigh then hosts Army for four games on April 10-12 in the only series between the Mountain Hawks and Black Knights this season.
The Mountain Hawks next take on Coppin State in Baltimore on April 14 before heading to Easton to face rival Lafayette for four games from April 17-19. Lehigh concludes the month with a midweek at Saint Peter's on April 22, three games at Holy Cross on April 25-26, and a midweek at Seton Hall on April 28.
Lehigh's final series of the season will be at home against Bucknell for three games on May 1-2. The Patriot League Championship semifinals will be played on May 9-10 while the championship series is scheduled to begin on May 16.
