First Team All-Patriot League… Started and played in 46 games for the Mountain Hawks… Hit .319 with 51 hits, 18 RBIs, seven doubles, one triple and 44 runs scored… Drew 31 walks, was hit by pitch 11 times and was one of the hardest to strike out in the Patriot League, doing so only 16 times… Led Lehigh was tied for second in the Patriot League with 21 stolen bases… Made 90 putouts in 94 chances, committing only one error for a fielding percentage of .989… Had 15 multi-hit games, including two four-hit performances against Charleston Southern (2/23) and Delaware (2/27)… Tied career-high for stolen bases with three against Coppin State (3/13)…
2023 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Started in 49 games during his sophomore season, hitting .273 with 50 hits, nine doubles, a triple and two home runs for 22 RBIs and 47 runs scored... Drew 22 walks, was hit by a pitch 10 times and swiped 16 stolen bases... Had 13 multi-hit performances with two of them being four-hit games... His first four-hit outing came against Bucknell, where he went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI (4/22) and the other occurrence was a 4-for-5 performance against Holy Cross with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs score Defensively, he made 133 putouts in 135 chances for a .993 fielding percentage as Lehigh's center fielder...
2022 (FIRST-YEAR SEASON)
Started in all 42 games that he played as an outfielder, finished the year with 50 hits, 10 doubles, one home run and 18 RBIs for a .313 batting average... Also walked 23 times, was 16 times and stole 15 bases during his first-year with the program... In his first collegiate game he turned in a 3-for-4 outing with two RBIs and a run scored against Davidson (2/18)... Turned in 15 multi-hit games with four of them being three-hit performances... In a win over Saint Peter's, he scored four runs while going 2-for-3 with a double and a walk for two RBIs (3/16)... Made 91 putouts for a clean 1.000 fielding percentage...
BEFORE LEHIGH
Whitlinger is one of Pennsylvania's top infielders heading into the upcoming season, evident by his accolades and accomplishments at La Salle College High School. The Harleysville, Pennsylvania native was a three-year starting shortstop for the team, winning two Catholic League titles and a state championship in 2021. His senior season saw him earn First Team All-Catholic honors after hitting .371 with 35 stolen bases. Whitlinger is a two-time Power Showcase All-American, two-time Perfect Game Preseason All-American (Mid-Atlantic Region) and was a Courier Times Pennsylvania All-Stat in 2021. According to Perfect Game, he is a top 500 player in the nation and the seventh-best shortstop in Pennsylvania.
