Lehigh Heads to Iowa to Face Hawkeyes, Otterbein, Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For its first competition of 2026, the Lehigh women's wrestling team heads to Iowa Sunday for a tri-meet with Iowa and Otterbein. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT from Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City with streaming video on Big Ten Plus.

Lehigh will compete for the first time since Dec. 30 when 16 Mountain Hawks wrestled at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill. First-year Aubre Krazer won the 131-pound title and went on to win the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler and Sportsmanship awards after prevailing in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in the finals. Krazer was joined on the podium by Genevieve An, who placed fourth at 180 and Kryssceah Ravenelle, who claimed sixth place at 138.

The Mountain Hawks enter the weekend with an impressive 13-0 dual record. In its last dual action, Lehigh went 4-0 to claim the team title at the Gannon Women's Duals, Dec. 6 in Erie, Pa. Among those four victories was a 34-13 win over Otterbein where the Mountain Hawks won eight of 10 bouts, including falls by An and Abbi Cooper.

Iowa is 8-1 in duals. The Hawkeyes were upset by North Central College in the semifinals of the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, last weekend. Iowa will have a contingent of wrestlers at the CK Mike Duroe Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa on Saturday before the Hawkeyes host the tri-meet on Sunday.

Otterbein is 8-5 in dual action this season. The Cardinals went 3-1 at the Tiffin Duals last weekend

This weekend's tri-meet will be the first of three trips to Iowa for the Mountain Hawks in the spring semester. Lehigh will send a contingent to Iowa for the Grand View Open in Des Moines, on Feb. 7. The inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship will be in nearby Coralville, Iowa, Mar. 6-7.

Following this weekend's tri-meet Lehigh will compete at the Pennsylvania Collegiate State Championships, hosted by East Stroudsburg, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. The Mountain Hawks' second home event will be a dual against Presbyterian at Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
