CORALVILLE, Iowa – Lehigh women's wrestling made its presence known on the big stage in its first season as a varsity program. Audrey Jimenez capped the inaugural season by winning the 110-pound national championship Saturday night at the NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships at Xtream Arena. Jimenez pinned Sage Mortimer of Grand Valley State in the first period of their finals bout giving the Mountain Hawks a national champion in their first varsity campaign.
Jimenez added to her haul by winning the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler Award and the NCAA's Most Dominant Wrestler Award for the 2025-26 season.
Jimenez and fellow Lehigh All-Americans Abbi Cooper (117) and Aubre Krazer (131) all ended their seasons with victories Saturday. The Mountain Hawks scored 54.5 team points at the inaugural NCAA Championships, finishing in sixth place.
Saturday's action began with Jimenez facing Iowa's Nyla Valencia in the semifinals. Jimenez trailed 2-0 at the break but came storming back in the second period with 13 unanswered points, claiming the 13-2 technical fall in 4:45.
In the finals, Jimenez opened the scoring with two exposure points before giving up a one-point reversal. After a restart, Jimenez locked up a cradle on Mortimer and took her to her back, with the fall called at 1:50. The national title caps a 21-0 campaign for Jimenez, who also won World silver medals in the fall semester at the U20 and U23 levels.
Krazer rebounded from a 4-0 loss to Aurora's Alexis Janiak in the semifinals, winning her next two bouts to place third at 131. In the consolation semifinals, Krazer defeated Janida Garcia of Emmanuel 10-0 in just over a minute. Krazer fell behind West Liberty's Cassia Zammit 3-0 in the third place bout, but answered with four points of her own before securing a fall in 2:48. She finishes with a 24-1 record in her first-year season.
Cooper suffered a loss by fall in the consolation quarterfinals, sending her to the seventh place match, where she won an 8-1 decision over Wartburg's Gable Hemann to finish on a winning note. She concludes her first-year season at 26-3.
McKendree University claimed the inaugural NCAA team title with 171 points, five more than runner-up Iowa.
